After falling in love with Vidya, Sandaras feels like Vidya is his everything. Sandaras' love was very pure...He truly loves her from the deepest of the heart. But their story could not be kept going further. They had to be separated.

Even if you go and stop in the sky

I come slowly and quietly.🎶

There is a point, after that point Sadaras could not come with Vidya (Vidya had to go abroad with their parents). That bond between them, however, remains the same. That's why it said, "I come slowly and quietly".

The great flowering forest is beautiful

and also Rainy desert is great🎵

When we are in love, we feel loved by everything we have. 

When we think about a great forest, we are reminded of a place with very dark, having very large trees, and with dangerous wildlife. But if flowers bloom there, they will mix attractiveness there, despite its dangerous appearance.

Everyone knows about the deserts. There is less water, Extreme heat, Bitter environment. But when that harsh environment gets the rain, it heels the desert. That is all thing that the desert needs. Is not it?

Love is just like that. It heels the desert while giving beauty to a great forest. 

Sometimes it is a flower. Sometimes it is a drop of rain. 

Eventually, it creates a massive impression there.

also can offer friendships sometimes 🎵

Kalu Kumaraya (The Black Prince) can disturb our normal lifestyle. 

[ The black prince or commonly known as Kalu kumaraya is a mythical character from Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is a country having such beautiful myths and folklore. There was an ancient Sri Lankan prince. He attempted to kill his father and take the power of the kingdom, Once his effort failed, he suicided. Then returned to this world as a demon and looking for the pretty young woman. Demon is invisible for the normal people but appears in front of only the target young girls and women.]

 Here, in this song, the black prince is compared to a black hole. 

What can a black hole do?

 A high amount of gravity inside the black hole causes it to pull so much that even light can not get out. That's why the songwriter used these words, "black holes that swallow stars".

 Black prince also does the same thing that black hole is doing. Black prince enters into a person who has a bright life and then destroys those lives. But due to the pure, strong, and true love of Sandaras, towards Vidya, the Black Prince was unable to enter Vidya's soul. So, Black Prince is in hate with Sandaras. 

Sandaras looked for her everywhere for years, after an unfortunate separation from Vindya. but not found any clue. That's why Sandaras thought to seek help from the demon. Then he asked for help from the black Prince.

 Do you think that Black Prince would agree to help Sandaras to find Vidya when Sandaras asked for help from the black prince?  

We can not think that will happen.

 However, the black prince agreed. It's because that Black Prince understood well, how much Sandaras loved her and how pure that love was. That's how Pure love turns the black prince's mind. There is nothing impossible for pure love. Even black holes, offer friendships in front of true love. 

How many things can be overwhelmed by true love? Yeah, It is amazing.

I was in the middle of the Rebirth cycle

Every Privilege you receive belongs to everyone 🎵

They met in one moment and they separated in another moment. If they were decided not to be separated at that moment, sometimes they could not have had things that they are having now.  

They could not have found themselves. 

Sandaras could not have been a university lecturer. 

Vidya could not have become a psychiatrist. 

Both lives might have been received that much success most probably due to their decision of being separated. So the success that they both had, belongs to both of them. But they both spent their whole life with that past feeling, with that love.

Although you are rough,

Sandaras met Vidya when Vidya was having the rough effect of the Black Prince. Eventually, they ( Sandaras and Vidya) met each other again when the black Prince affected Sandaras' wife.

In the end, Black Prince caused this love story to be written in this way. Sandaras and Vidya were moving forward separately in their own lives. Now they feel comfortable even though the separation was too hard and painful. 

But something is there.

 They both have that feeling and those memories in the deepest of their heart. Those things don't interfere with their present life. But they both are having an unspeakable emptiness in their lives. 

I love to add something more here. 

Think about this for a while. 

There are some bonds in this world, that they have never told each other that they love each other. Also, they have never been like lovers. They both have loved other people separately. That means they have had relationships separately with someone else. It has no name for that bond, no rights. Also, a bond that can not be owned one day. Can not get close and make love, but that love arises from the bottom of the heart. It is not a regret, but surely, it is the emptiness I mentioned earlier.

Yes, these things exist. 

The important thing is, that it is not annoying the present life.  Did not you feel that way when thinking about the Sandaras and Vidya's love?

 "When love is empty in the heart, demons will creep to those places"💔

 That lesson was taught by the rough effect of the black prince. In Sri Lankan culture, We have heard how the black prince affects younger girls. ( I mentioned earlier)  In our society, we have recognized that thing as a devil. 

But let's look at it from a different angle. 👇

This story in the movie and the meaning of the song are trying to tell us something different. This black prince can be compared to the challenges, barriers, troubles that we face while living. So, when love is empty in our hearts, the above-mentioned challenges, barriers, and troubles get closer to our lives. That challenge still could be another human. As an example, When your heart is empty with love, another person can easily get into your life. Because you have enough storage in your heart for someone else. But if it was filled with love, would anyone be allowed to enter? Ask it yourself.

So now, can you see how that black prince has taught those lessons? How the black prince has caused this love story to be written in this way. Finally, they both have got peaceful lives. Is not it because of the black prince? Yeah, it is because of the black prince. 

So I am telling you, black prince. Although you are rough, You are my comfort as always.

In this story, If you have noticed it closely, you would not miss these things. 

The black prince was not allowed to enter Vidya's life because of the pure love between Sandara and Vidya. 

But at another time, the black prince got the chance to enter the Sandaras' present wife because of her suspicion towards Sandaras. Even for a moment, she (wife) suspects her husband. It was the door for the black prince to enter into her soul, her life, and make a mess in their lives.

So the whole story in the movie is within this song. That's why it is so interesting to interpret this song's meaning and also, the basis of the whole movie is there in this sentence,

 "When love is empty in the heart, demons will creep to those places"💔

M E   N A G A R A Y A  

The person who is telling this story has come to Kandy. But there is a kind of memory and kind of pain attached to this place. Why this city is very much special to him? 

It is because,

Who is addressed as you here?

Obviously his first love. Most people have that experience of first love. Unfortunately, some are not able to marry their first love while some are luckiest to do. Unlucky ones are left with the memory and unexplainable pain.

So now it is clear that he is telling this story for her (for his first love). 

Even though we are changed, the beautiful environment of this city has not changed.  (Kandy and Peradeniya are cities with gorgeous environments and also with cool & comfortable weather). 

He is looking here and there.

Now it is clear that they were a university couple of the University of Peradeniya back then.

 (especially, the University of Peradeniya is filled with lots of love stories. A large number of songs are written based on this university also. Well known reason for that is, the environment there might influence the romance.)

 So he is reflecting everything. This environment causes him to get back to those memories. He is saying that he wants to go to university again with her (with that first love mentioned). Most university students have a love story which never forget. 

So will this person be able to go back to that good past?

Now he is telling something new.

We thought that he is alone there ( that city). But he has not come to Peradeniya lonely. He has come with some others. Who are they? 

He is walking with his wife on the same street where he walked with his first love back then. His baby son is also there. 

So how will he go to that beautiful past again?

 Because he has come a long way by now, with his family. Even though he loves his past he has to move forward. Other than that there is nothing to do. So in the end he is emphasizing this. 

"Our whole life looks like a dream. Is not it? "
